 God
has blessed this diocese with an abundance of friends who are committed to
serving His people. All diocesan programs must be self-supporting,
Donations from churches, foundations, civic clubs, and individuals have allowed us to
build churches and schools, educate children of the poor, and help those
in need. Certainly, large financial donations which allow us to improve
our infrastructure are essential to our continued growth. However,
most of our donations are small and come from individuals who have a
desire to support foreign mission.
The
diocese does accept shipments of items coming from the USA, but retrieving
these items from shipping facilities is a time-consuming and expensive
process. Please contact the Bob or Ellen at the diocesan office
prior to shipping to us to insure that these items will put to
good use somewhere in the diocese. All shipping costs, including
customs fees need to be paid by the contributor. The diocese does
not have the funds to assume these costs. There have been instances
where the customs fees and shipping fees have exceeded the the value of
items received.
In
many instances, monetary gifts are far less complicated. As a
mission diocese the Bishop is held accountable for all financial
contributions, regardless of how they are earmarked. Therefore, all financial
contributions must pass through the diocesan accounting
system. This is required by our auditor. Once a contribution
is calculated in pesos, the donation is passed
on to the desired program. All financial contributions will be used
exactly as directed by the
 donor. The diocese does not retain
a portion of a contribution for its own use. Contributors should indicate
how they want their monetary gifts used, and the gift will be used for
this purpose.
