Dear Friends In Christ:     

  On behalf of our clergy and lay people, I invite you to explore these web pages and discover the work of the Episcopal church in this corner of the Lord's vineyard in the Caribbean.

  The Dominican Episcopal Church is one of the fastest growing dioceses in the United States Episcopal Church (ECUSA).  In the last 10 years we have doubled the number of churches and more than doubled the number of Episcopal schools which are providing education to our young people.  Indeed, our Lord has blessed us with faithful Christians who are strong leaders and are eager to serve our Lord. 

We are a mission diocese in a "Third World" country.  Evangelism plays an important role in the life of this church.  However, equally important are those programs we have developed to help our Dominican and Haitian brothers and sisters who live in difficult conditions.  In recent years we have focused our attention on the needs of children and our senior citizens.  Though our financial resources are limited, our faith is great.

Our Lord has honored our prayers and faith by bringing mission partners to our shores.  They have helped us build school's, churches, children's shelters, and medical facilities.  They have provided health care to the poor and material and financial resources to feed, cloth, and educate our economically-disadvantaged brothers and sisters.  Without their help, our churches and schools would not have been built and the poor would not have benefited by the many programs they have sponsored.  Our continual prayer is that our Lord will bless these Christians as He has blessed our churches and people.
